$10,000 Grant from Samtec Cares for CCC Ghost Trail!

Big News: HMBA Awarded $10,000 Grant from Samtec Cares for CCC Ghost Trail for O’Bannon Woods Mountain Biking!

The Hoosier Mountain Bike Association (HMBA) is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a $10,000 grant from Samtec Cares to support the continued build of the CCC Ghost Trail — an exciting new project that we've previously shared with you on hmba.org.

The CCC Ghost Trail will celebrate Indiana's Civilian Conservation Corps history while providing a thrilling, sustainable new route for riders of all skill levels. This trail is more than just a ride — it's a tribute to our shared outdoor heritage and a step forward in our mission to expand and enhance Indiana’s trail systems.

This generous funding from Samtec Cares will go directly toward construction efforts, helping us bring this unique trail to life for the community and visitors alike.

We were honored to meet with representatives from Samtec during the check presentation, where HMBA President Jason Wise accepted the award on behalf of the organization. Their support is a shining example of how corporations can make a lasting impact on our local outdoor spaces.

We are incredibly grateful for Samtec’s commitment to community, recreation, and conservation — and we're excited to keep you updated on trail progress as we move forward with construction.  Currently the trail has been completely roughed in, however due to the abnormal amount of rain this summer the build had to be paused.  Our expectation is that trail construction will start back up this fall.

Stay tuned for trail updates, volunteer opportunities, and ribbon cutting date. As always, thank you for supporting HMBA’s mission!
