Trail Work
Our mountain bike trails here in Indiana, like most across the country, exist because mountain bikers build and maintain them. If you regularly enjoy these trails and your schedule allows, please make an effort to join work sessions when you can. No experience is necessary. Whether we’re building or repairing trail or simply weed eating and trimming, we’re more than happy to show newcomers how the work is done because this know-how must be passed on. Our trails will not continue without us.
Trail work sessions are of course physical, but just like you ride at your own pace, you can work at your own pace. You will not be expected to work beyond your capability. When you show up, pace yourself and do what you can. Everyone who helps makes a difference.
For newer riders looking to connect with others, trail work sessions are also a great way to meet fellow mountain bikers.
Bring gloves, water, and insect repellent, and wear sturdy footwear and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. We provide tools.
Monitor the Facebook page of your local chapter for more information.
