How to imbed images in posts
« on: April 06, 2012, 02:31:18 PM »
If anyone is interested, I have a method that works for imbedding images in posts using flickr.com (an image hosting web site).

If you don't have a Flickr account you will need to sign up.  It's free unless you want to pay for advanced features.  Most people won't need more than the basic, free version.  http://www.flickr.com/

It's a lot easier to show you how I do it, versus describing it in this post.  So go to my video on Vimeo to see it.

I am interested in other methods / sites, as well as suggestion to simplify the way I'm doing it now on Flickr.

Cheers!

 :D

I use a Droid & here is how I do it.
up load to Photobucket
copy image link from photobucket on your phone (long press to copy link)
now go to what ever you want to post in on HMBA . Press the photo icon. in the text field, long press in the text field, then select paste when the copy/paste block appears.
submit post.
Note!!  You do not need to paste the image link between the  img/img any where in the text field works.

it's way simpler on flickr than your method.

1.  go to your photostream.
2.  click on the photo you want to share to view it on its own page
3.  above and towards the left of the photo, you will see some buttons.  the video shows the Action button.  click the Share button instead.
4.  choose the "Grab the HTML/BBCode" option
5.  choose which code you want (this forum prefers BBCode)
6.  choose the photo size you want
7.  copy and paste the code

Code: [Select]
[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/8007861@N04/6824499434/][img]http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7063/6824499434_71da0b9f9f.jpg[/img][/url]
[url=http://www.flickr.com/photos/8007861@N04/6824499434/]La Bahia and San Juanillo[/url] by [url=http://www.flickr.com/people/8007861@N04/]mtbikernate[/url], on Flickr

La Bahia and San Juanillo by mtbikernate, on Flickr

and the photo becomes not just embedded, but also a clickable link to send folks to your flickr page.[/size]

Photobucket.com is what I use.  It also has the codes to imbed pictures.  You upload the picture, click the code you want and paste it into your post.  Done.

tinypic is the simplest imho  :P .. Upload photo to site, enter the captcha spam word and voila! You now have codes for the web and forums.
