Karma Camelion....
« on: February 29, 2012, 06:52:22 AM »
Hi Gang,

I've been hearing some grumblings that some folks don't like the Karma function on our friendly HMBA Forum. We instituted this when we upgraded the forum template last year, just as a fun tool. Some, however, are afraid it's sending the wrong message to folks. So, let's take a vote. I'll be running this poll for the next 30 days. Do you like the Karma function, or should we dump it?

Let your voice be heard! Oh, and don't worry. The votes are anonymous, so you won't be smote. 8)

I'm kinda indifferent to it but if we keep it, I'd like to see additional features that I've seen on other forums:

1) that you are notified of who giveth and who taketh away

2) that you know what post it is for

Okay. The votes are in... 88% of those that voted either want to keep the Karma function, or didn't even notice it. Soooooo.. it stays.

There were some good suggestions on modifications, however, it's really not feasible (yes, I checked). The only thing I could do is make a relative +/- with no totals. Since only 12% don't like the function, I think we'll just leave it the way it is.

Thanks for voting!

Karma has been disabled. The forum represents HMBA-IMBA, which is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization.  The forum is intended to provide information to the public about mountain biking.  This forum needs to be a positive place where new and experience riders can exchange information.  Providing negative ratings to posters in not appropriate.  If you feel a post is not positive, use the report post option.
