New to Lafayette

I'm new to the area as I have come back to college.  I'm scouting the internet looking for places to ride.  Is there a comprehensive list of areas to ride somewhere?

I know of these so far:

Tippecanoe Amphitheater
McCormick Woods
Murdock Park

I don't care for roots, rocks and obstacles just yet.  I like flowing, smooth and fast.  I also don't care for trees that are inches from the trail path.  I've rode the Amphitheater but didn't care for it.  I tend to like more open wide trails.  Are there any of those around?

It sounds like you are looking for a greenway or road. If you didn't think the Amphitheater flowed well then you won't like any of the trails close by.

You might consider France Park...about 45 minutes from Lafayette outside of Logansport.  Like John stated, if you thought the Ampitheater didn't flow or was tight, then not much is going to work for you around Lafayette.  France Park has more 2 track and several areas where there are large fields with paths cut into them that you may like.

Also, feel free to email me as I would be more than happy to give you more info and possibly meet up for a ride to show you around the trails @ France Park.  Welcome back and good luck!
