I am sorry to report, but RAIN has moved in over night, and is excpected to continue through Thursday. Our area is excpecting up t 3 inches by the time it is over on Friday morning.
Please AVOID the trail at this time
I will report back if the bulk of the rain happens to pass over us, but at this time, we are changing status to RED. PLEASE NOTE, TRAIL LIGHT DID NOT CHANGE, WILL TRY AGAIN LATER THIS MORNING

Thanks

French Lick Trails are closed at this time due to HIGH5 WATER. Will report Conditions as they change.

Rode a couple laps on the blue and 1 on the green tonight and conditions were yellowish green.  Most of the trail is good but there are some spots that need attention.   Mostly routine maintenance kinda stuff ie. clearing drains of built up leaves which allows the drains to actually flow and dry up quickly vs damning up water and being susceptible to tire ruts, which further exacerbates the problem! I took care of several, but there's many more that need opened up.  Some need to be rearmored with flat rock.

IMHO, the "fireroad" that we actually ride in the middle of the blue loop could stand to be "snaked" or in other words, have some gentle S bends developed to help with water management.   There's some erosion happening that could be remedied quite easily.  This is the section of downhill after the longest climb.   It ends up crossing the powerline corridor as well.  Not sure if the fireroad needs to be there for access or not.

Mike..thanks for the great update ...I have change the trail status accordingly.  We have not had a lot of personal time this spring to be doing any maintenance due to family issues but hope to have some time freeing up shortly. Appreciate the details..This helps a lot. Traci

Trail report from 4/10/2014 is the trail is yellow/green in some areas. Please be patient as we work through some of the areas holding water which need work. If you are out there and have some time and would like to take some time to open up the drains, please do. We will address the area on the blue trail that needs worked shortly. The trail status has been changed to yellow, and this should stay that way unless we get any significant rain over the weekend. Thanks and Ride Safe

Just finished a ride, trails were in great shape.  I cleared several drains clogged with leaves but there was not much water anywhere.  Hot day with no leaves on the trees and wind has really dried things out.  I would  say conditions are green
