French Lick Trail Conditions

I rode there multiple times the last two weeks and did not see anything rock wise, that wasn't supposed to be the trails. Are you sure it wasn't supposed to be there?

I ride FL at least once a week and have never seen this square rock at that location You could see the inprint where rock came from on left side of trail going down hill. Was there 4-23 and 4-24 . There are (2) other rock /Jumps on the green downhill that have been there that have trail around them

 10-4. I was somewhat concerned that you might have been confusing one of those two rock structures as unwanted obstacles. I'm also noting it may be optometrist time for me as I rode there the 24th and earlier that week and saw nothing. I fear bifocals are next...

Solid yellow. The trails are still wet in the usual spots.

Trails in good condition . Small pine tree 4"  across trail at hair pin in the pines on the blue trail

  The area has recieved a significant amount of rainfall this week along with some strong winds. The trail is currently RED and may stay that way throughout the weekend. Plans are to hit the problem areas by foot to verify conditions and will post up when and if they are rideable.
Please be patient and let the trail dry out.

Rode FL yesterday.  Ground use dry to tacky in spots.  The water fall chute was slimmy and gulleys were filled with run off debris.  Three other people were starting their ride when I finished doing two laps.  Yellow to green with 70 to 80 weather ahead.  Mitchel to Paoli the speed limit is 35 due to road construction.

Managed to get in two laps on the green this morning before the race started. Several wet/soft/muddy spots so I would say the trail is still a solid yellow for today, but by tomorrow will be dry and green. Not sure how those spots will hold up for a race tho. I would say that 40 to 50 riders doing multiple laps will have some spots in bad shape for the next rain event. Might want to have the race organizers do some repairs after they finish their race. Speaking of the race, would have been nice if they had posted something in the forum about closing the trail for this race. I now see that it is in the calendar, but I don't check that before a ride. Was more than unhappy when I arrived (after an hour drive) to be told the trail was closed for this race. Fortunately I had a couple of hours before the start, so I had time to get a ride in. Just sayin'..........

Well Traci, I guess I'll take back that it wasn't posted. I don't usually check the FB page for info. When I want to go riding I usually just check trail status on the HMBA site, and check the forum for info. I didn't see anything there about the race. The good news is that I did get a ride in, and didn't waste a trip. I have done some limited racing before, but I am only two weeks removed from a surgery, and would not done well trying to race. Had a great ride (read that slow) tho.....

Rode a lap after the race and trails looked great . We meet a couple of riders (from race crew) picking up all the signs and tape on the course.

All the race signs are down and the trail is in great shape at the moment.


I hope everyone gets a chance to get out and enjoy it this week with the great temperatures.


Thanks to all that helped get the trail ready and for FLMB for allowing the race to be held.


Everyone I spoke to at registration remarked about how great of a trail it was, and the effort of the resort was greatly noticed.

Did two laps of the trails.  They were in great shape with no trees down.  The resort was having a antique car show and it was interesting looking at all the cars.  Model t's and a's and a beat up Hudson.
