UPDATE ON TRAIL STATUS AS OF JULY 2, 2013

Trails are going to be closed through the weekend as the trails are too wet to ride. Please respect the RED light and avoid this trail. Possible trail work day is in the works at the time and would appreciate any and all willing people to come out and lend a hand.More details will follow.Thank you

UPDATE ON THE TRAIL STATUS:
SATURDAY MORNING 6/29/2013After checking on the trail on friday evening, the trails are going to need to stay RED for the weekend if not longer. We have several areas that are going to need to be addressed, with the worst part being the creek crossings which have washed out and some may not be ridable at this time. The trees are small enough that can be addressed with a small saw and the entire blue has not been checked, but we expect the same if not worse for this area as well. Please note....their is no CLOSED sign at the trail head, but it is advisable that people not ride it.We are in the progress of trying to plan a work day as it is going to take more than a few people to get some of the areas fixed. If you are interested in possibly helping, please PM me for more information, and I will post up as soon as something is set.For right now it will be a little at a time as time allows for the few guys that are here along with the park staff as time allows for them.Thank you for your understanding and please pass the word along to those who do not watch this board.ThanksTraci

PLEASE USE CAUTION STILL ON THE TRAIL

The green is rideable, but still has areas that will need addressed on the trail day July 20.
The blue is not what it use to be....Per instructions of the resort, ride at your own risk.
It is VERY important that everyone be respectful of the resort and sign out.

If you ride the Blue trail you will notice orange flagging tape on the trail. Vertical flagging tape means use caution. Horizontal flagging tape (tape across the trail) means the trail is washed out. Ride at your own risk as emergency services may be slow to respond in the event of an incident. The map below is areas where caution is advised. Here is a link to the Google Earth file that has pictures of the caution area. Removed link due to too many broken picture links. Will try to restore later.

Metrology has nothing to do with  weather.

The Green trail is not in too bad of shape. Tree still down between 3 and 4. If you think you will ride and find it to be like the DINO race a few weeks back, it isn't..lines have changed.. We will try and get on the blue sometime this weekend or early next week. Everything is pretty well marked for everyone so if you get out have fun but be safe and keep your eyes open. Thanks :)

The tree between 3 and 4 has been cut.  Also 2 trees between 22 and 24 have been cut.

The wide section of trail on the blues between the pines down to the pipeline going clockwise is very rutted and dangerous.  An easy place to drop a front wheel in and go flying over the bars.

Those are the only sections I was on today but I talked to a few riders that rode the green and they said it was in good shape.  I'm hoping to ride tonight, so I will give a better update after my ride.

Thanks,

Jason

Great!! ! I believe the FL crew was able to get them this morning.
They are aware of the condition of blue and hopefully everyone will continue to use caution in those areas.
The green is getting better for sure.. just hoping all the rain goes another direction

I rode the green trails tonight.  Just a couple puddles and pretty dry overall.  However, just like Traci stated the flow is gone.  I have worked on the trails a couple times but I hadn't ridden them since all the storms.  A ton of rocks and roots are now exposed that weren't exposed previously.

About 5 creek crossings are drastically different as well.  It is gonna take some pretty major work to get the green back to how it was right before the race this year.

Definitely be careful if when you ride as a lot of the rocks have sharp edges and sharp drop offs.  I went over the bars once as my front wheel stopped abruptly.

Thanks,

Jason

Hi Kris,

The area received about 1 inch of rain early afternoon, but the sun came out and has been dry every since. Most of the precipitation has moved out of the area and we are excepting a nice day on Thursday.
The Green trail will have some of the normal wet spots, and creek crossings I would advise using caution at.
The blue......please watch for the orange markings in the trees as those area's still have not been worked as of yet. Please check the map out that N9tkf posted for locations of some of these areas.
Thanks, and have a great ride.
PS
Please post up if you find something needing addressed as we are planning on working the trail in the evening on Thursday. Thanks :)

A big shout out to the resort staff for helping; along with the team of volunteers by working on some of the severe areas that were affected by the recent storms.
Without everyone working together this trail would not be what it is and it is much appreciated.
