This volunteer cut out that tree today. Thanks to the hiker walking by with his dog, it made a nice bench.

Thanks for taking out the downed tree. The entire trail was cleaned of debris last week also. Was that you or the Carmel Parks Department employees who do the routine maintenance?

A small but hardy crew of four volunteers made it out in today's warm weather.  River road is still drying out. Hazel Landing is ready to ride and has more people & dogs using it.

has anyone been on either of these trails lately.  Id like to go ride after work.  Ive never seen another MTBer on there, so I assume they dont get used much.

I haven't been in a couple of weeks, but it's usually in great shape. I would love turning it into a full loop at some point in time. It dries out much faster than Town Run

I rode it last week and it needed a good weed wacking.  The growth is up into my bars.  Otherwise, the surface is looking good.

Believe it or not, the trail was pretty good tonight. Definitely rideable. I was out on an urban ride and cruised through the park. I had been assuming the trail would be too soft, but it was OK.

Got me some trail today! Woohoo! :D

I rode the River Rd loop today and it has firmed up since last week.  There is a standing pool of water just before the entrance, but the rest, I'd call Yellow.  It ain't much, but if you're getting tired of riding circles in the garage, it'll do!

I do this short loop all the time and will try to weedwack the top section this weekend.

*6/9/2013 Update* I weedwacked the trail entrance and upper section today.  You should be good to go without having to wade through the tall grasses.  I didn't ride it or check the lower section, so I can't comment on the condition of the lower section.  The last time I rode it, there was some erosion at the metal 'feature' in one of the dips in the lower section.  Iit might be tricky for any total beginners and you can't really hammer through this dip due to the hole.

I made it back to River Road Park to trim the lower section.  I'd done the top section last week and it is looking pretty good again.  +1 on some new thicker trimming line.  I was using some thin stuff, but read that someone was using .105 mm line that was good for chopping back the honeysuckle.  I replaced my line with the thick stuff and it doesn't break as often and slices right through encroaching brush.
