I helped at SWW for a couple of hours on the weekend of 10-03 and the trail looks great. However, I can’t make it on 10-24. If we have more weekend trail building at SWW I will try and make it. Bob, I’m also available to help out at the WTP trails when needed.

Bob I was thinking of trying to get out maybe sat. and blowing the leaves off the upper trails. If we can get a couple of people with leaf blowers it should not take long.I talked to Ronnie(trustee) and he assured me that mtn biking was still going to be part of the parks future but remember he is still a politician. He said the road was on schedule to be done by Thanksgiving. There is going to be pavement sections we will have to ride but only time will tell of the damage done. I will try to get more info as the road gets closer to completion.

I can get out there this weekend as well, the issue would be if we can get some leaf blowers to get the job done. I don't own one, and Brian does the park have any?  If we can get them then I say would should do it on saturday morning.

The park does have one leaf blower that I know of. If you call Eric, I am sure he would have his guys blow the leaves off. ;D :D ;D :D
Know really, you would need to call Eric to ask him if you could use it. Or you might be able to get by calling Kyle or Steve. And hopefully, one of those two are working this weekend.

I'd be willing to see if I can borrow a neighbors gas powered blower to help.  I have an electric one but not a long enough cord to help on the trails :D  Let me know if the project gets approved.  And if you do call check to see if it's OK that I might be bringing in a blower not belonging to the park.  I doubt it would be an issue, but just to play it safe.

I will give him a call at lunch.  Even if we get a couple that would be good.  And if I have to my wife just bought me a nice big plastic rake for the yard that I could use, not sure that is the location she was hoping I would use it on but what are you going to do :)

I will be there around 715 to 730 with my leaf blower. It should not take that long to do with a couple of blowers going. I am sure the park will lend us theirs. It is free labor and it makes it look like the park employees actually did a little work. See you saturday!

I talked to Eric this morning and he said they have blown the trails early this week.  It sounds like the post of people riding came from the weekend.  He told me that this is something they can take care of and should be the ones to, so any of you who rode this week he asked me to find out the names of the trails that still needed it.  Again he said they did some early this week so not sure if anyone has been out there during the week, I know I haven't.  He assured me that if we give him which trails are still covered they will get it right away.  I told him I am sure it would be the singletrack trails that people were referring to.

For the most part, anything with an "Advanced" sign was covered in leaves, exception being the free-ride area which was pretty clear except for the go-around the bridges parts (I rode over the bridges, so no leaf issues there).

Have they opened up the south side of the park yet (where they were building the access road)?

As far as the soutside it is still closed.  Todd I know you mentioned going tomorrow.  I e-mailed Eric the details of which trails needed work, and he replied and said he was going to have his staff do it this weekend.  So I guess we should ride instead and check to see if it gets accomplished :)

Sounds good!  I ended up getting an offer to go to the Purdue Michigan State Game tomorrow so I won't be out Saturday.  If the weather is good on Sunday I'll probably ride WTP or maybe drive up to TRTP.

Depending on how my sick little boy is feeling I will call you if I don't have morning duty.  Otherwise I will have to ride during his nap.

Rode WTP today and Oriole, Poplar Pass, and Tulip (of course the 3 main trails I ride) have not been cleared.  Everything that is typically walked was clear.  There was a family "sliding" down the hill from the top of Poplar Pass to the leg that runs off camber down the side of the ravine.  They had pushed about 2 feet worth of leave into the trail.  I couldn't be mad about it my two boys would have had a ball doing what they were doing.

Anyway just thought I'd report about the trail status.
