It is really close to my work as well.  It would be nice to get a ride in before I head home for the day.

So after doing as much reasearch as I can on here I am under the assumption that currently the trails at SWW cannot be ridden right now???  Is this correct?

Correct.  There is still work left to be done on the trails before we can open it up.

Avon Crew,
How does saturday 10/24 or Sunday 10/25 sound for joining us at SWWay for a work session/meeting of the minds.  I have that weekend off so i am flexible. Just post here if either date works better for your crew and i will start a new thread to see what other interest we can get.

That could work for me as it is my fall break and I will have finally spent some time with the family for three days before that.  This working late mon- thurs. hasn't been good on family time.  So for me it would be the perfect weekend to do it as she might want me out of the house after 3 full days togethor!

Hey Brian, I am sorry to hear that you are stepping down, but I completely understand. It's been awhile since I have had any time to even get on here and check things let alone ride at all. I am glad to see that someone has stepped up to fill your shoes. I'm sure he will do a fine job. If you decide to make a trip to SWW I would be more than happy to help out as well. Interested in Avon still too, but that last adventure took the wind out of my sails. I actually haven't been back myself since. Call me whenever there is a work day at either place. I'm sure you will give my number to the new guy. Thanks to both of you.

Avon Crew,
Thanks for your interest in helping at SWWY.  I posted a thread for a 10/24/09 trial work day 9-5 come and go when you need to.
I know we have a least 3 bridges/crossings to do.  We should have some benching to do as well but I have know idea what the route is for the completion of the loop.  Ill be out there through out the week and will try to post when im there if you want a quick tour. Looking forward to getting to Avon as well.  I am sorry to say i havnt been out there in about three years and heard you have done some good stuff. A tour after some trail work would be sweet. -AL

Hey Jason! Todd and I where just talking about how you were one of the great trail workers and woundering what you have been up to. Yes that last adventure at Avon took the wind out of my sails also! I am sorry to hear that you have not had any time to ride. I did pass your number on to Bob (new guy). Todd, Bob, and I are planning on making it to SWW on the Saturday the 24th to helpout. Hopfully you can make it on that day also!

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the time you have devoted to WTP!  I'm sure that the area XC runners and coaches woould appreciate your team's efforts too, if they knew who was really responsible for having nice groomed trails to run on that are safe.  I don't get over to WTP much, but I appreciate it's dual personality of very technical trail and easy flowing trail.  It's tough to catch crap from people when it was caused by someone else's lack of planning, and I do understand that family comes first.  After getting the SWW morning work session going, I now have a new job that takes me back to day hours, so it's weeknights or weekends for me again.  As Warren and Al have said, I too will help out with Avon once we get this first loop at SWW open.  A SWW/WTP alliance will help both trails!  We may even get Mark Rodgers, the trail boss from Versailles, to come out when he can to lend us his expertise.

When you come over, be sure to bring your bike.  Even thought the trail is not open yet, trail workers are allowed to test ride the first section that is passable to get a feel for the flow, so that tweaks can be made where it is needed.  Currently, the trail is passable up to the 5 bridge.  I will be there tomorrow evening after work, prob about 530, to work on the 5 bridge approaches, and I believe a couple others will be there too.  Hope to see you and Bob at SWW soon!

You are right Dave! Most of the people that use the trails at WTP, like the high school XC runners have no idea that volunteers are the ones that have made new trails and keep the trails open. But that is probable also the case at other parks too.

I also appreciate all the work that you have done at Townrun and now SWW.
I look forward to meeting you Dave, and the other guys that work at SWW! One Question though? Now that we have formed a alliance, does that mean that we have to vote somone off every week? ;D
See you on the 24th!

We have an annual family dinner that I will be out of town for.  Otherwise I'd be happy to lend a helping hand.

Thanks to everyone that is going to be able to help!

Yeah, we can gang up on Warren, he doesn't do anything  ;) j/k he has probably put in more time there than all of us combined!
