We are going to do some fall trail work this Saturday Oct 25th at Avon. Start time is 7:30am working until noon. Meet down at the park maintenance barn, or if you show up later than 7:30 you can find us by the train bridge. First work of order will be putting the log bridge back in place and securing it good so the next flood will not move it again. And then of course there is a long list of other things to do!

Just wanted to bring attention to this post. The local forcast calls for rain all day Saturday :( but Acuuweather says just a couple showers possible. Hopefully Acuuweather is more right and there wont be any rain Saturday morning. :-\

Jason, Todd, and I got the log bridge back in place and secured with longer 4x4 posts and alot more rock and dirt. We also covered up some of the bootleg trails with logs and limbs along the hillside trails. Then we fixed a couple of mud holes. I rode there Sunday afternoon and it was real nice. Just a couple of mud holes on the wide trails otherwise really good shape. My Thanks goes out again to Jason and Todd  for thier help Saturday! We might work again this next Saturday? I'll post here in the next day or two if we are.

Sorry I missed last week.  This week I am heading to the Notre Dame game, but after that I should be ready for some more trail building from now through the spring again!

The weather doesn't look that good for Saturday Again, but as long as its not raining hard, we will be there. Like last time, it will probable turnout to be good working weather after all! :) See ya Saturday!

Jason, Todd, and I braved the weather last Saturday and did end up working, even though it was raining the whole time. We built a nice 22 foot long x 2 foot high Crib wall on old Gambles Run. Some of the post holes where really a pain to dig because of the tree roots and rock. And it was very tuff trying to stay on the side of a steep hillside that was very slick. Jason and Todd are both really hard workers and I for one, appreciate all that they have done to improve the trails at (Avon) Washington Township park!
Thanks Guys!

Dude that sounds awsome! I know this last summer there were a few times id come haulin' down through there and one little mistake and your sliding down the incline. Cant wait to go check it out. I probably woulda came out to help but i broke a rib and messed my shoulder up out at Town Run a couple weeks ago and just need to chill and heal. I bet working on that incline was a PITA!  :) Thanks!

Brian,
My daughter has softball practice from 9 until 11:00, I am talking with the wife about drop off and pick-up.  But I will be there at some point, hopefully for all of it.  I do know where to find you.  Do you already have this area flagged, and didn't notice anything out there the last time I was there.

We got a nice new section of trail cut in today. :)  It is on the new property , after you go out into the open area you can go back into the woods sooner now. It runs along the creek. There are a couple of logs that need cut though. The park workers were buzy with the dog park so no one was avalible to use the chain saw. I will call them next week to see if they can cut them for us. Big THANKS to Todd and Jim for there time and hard work!
