went out running on the trails today...very wet, tons o' mud holes and the lower section is essentially flooded...trail should be red for awhile till it gets at least 2-3 solid days of NO RAIN (venting frustration at ma' nature) and time to dry out.
Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see!

I was in Avon lastnight after work so i went by the park to see how it was. The creek has went over its banks so all the trails on the bottom are a mess. :( Water was up to the low part of the roller coaster bridge on the Free Ride trail. If it doesn't rain the rest of the week ,it might be ok by this weekend, but I am sure there will still be some mud holes in some places. And this all depends on how fast the creek goes down of coarse. Also RibFest is this weekend at the park so the upper park will be packed with people! Not a good weekend to ride thier anyway! :-\

Does anyone know how bad the weeds are?  I do have an e-mail into the park manager about either them doing it or us and I am waiting for a reply.  I was hoping we could trim them this weekend but at this point it is becoming pretty late notice and next weekend may not be great with the 4th of July.  As soon as I here from him I will post something.  On a side note when I said I would take over for Brian my schedule was bad but not this bad.  I haven't forgot about it I just currently am working everyday.  I am teaching summer school (all day), and online summer school, GED 4 nights a week, and working the race track (for a buddy) on weekends so no family time much less time for anything else ( not complaining just letting you guys know why I haven't had any work days).  Now this is complaining it is so bad I haven't even had a chance to ride a trail all year much less work on one :'(  All road rides at this point and not many!  Sad I know! It will free up a little shortly and I will be able to get things going the good news is besides weed eating there isn't much to do with most of the property closed off right now thanks to the road.  We will be building new trail in the back eventually I am just waiting on the manager on that one as well.  Sorry for the slow start but thanks to all the work by Brian and others in the past at least the part that is open didn't need anything the first half of this year anyway.

Dave,                                                                                                                                                                                        I rode there yesterday and would call it yellow but with todays forecast it will be red again real quick.

Currently at noon the trails are ready to ride.  On Brian's Freeride Trail there are a couple of low spots that are soft but are to the point that they probably need some wheels to pack it down.  On the double track everywhere there are still some decent side mud pits as ususal.

Absolutely!!  It doesn't cost a dime! :D  That is about as free ride as that trail gets!  Gotta love the bridges though!

Trails are all dry except for low area walking trails. That being said

I just went riding over there for the first time since getting back from college. Can't say how disappointed I was at the stupid new road going right through the middle of the park. Not only did it destroy some of the trails that went under the train bridge and such, its basically kept people from riding back on the lake trail from what I saw. I could hardly even tell where the trail ran and then once you get back into the very far woods there's a sign saying "No trespassing"?? The park administration obviously doesn't care about the mountain biking trails and would rather just build nature centers and huge roads.

I live a mile south of the park, and I noticed it was on yellow.  I haven't had rain in quite awhile and we didn't get any of it last night so my guess is the park is bone dry.
