Done! Thanks Dave. Please post here when and if you find out when the trails open. It might be nice if one of your park contact could update the forum (or email me). Would you mind making that suggestion to your contact?

Thanks!

Called Westwood an hour ago & found out it's closed.  Mr. Ranger said they got a ton of rain yesterday and it was raining there when I called.

I just called the WW Park Office. The trails are still "muddy as can be", and still closed.

Status = Red

I find the best thing to do is call the park. Their phone number is listed on their web page here:
http://www.visitwestwood.com/

I'll do this tomorrow and provide an update.

ran westwood saturday VERY muddy, some kind of small biting flys out in full force had to go back and put hat and shirt on to run, there is a tree down just north of bridge #9, also there used to be a little bit of a path from bridge #7 to the water spigot on the east side was wondering if a small trail could be weed wacked to that i bet lot of people dont even know it and the restrooms are even there on that side.  also the older bridges are very slick so be careful when hitting them on the bike at a odd angle would be easy to go down.

I just spoke with the Park. They are currently open, but there are storms rolling through as we speak. I'm going to turn the trail Yellow, and will call them back tomorrow.

Has anyone been out to Westwood yet today? I'm calling the gatehouse in a bit to find out if it's still sloppy...

MOst of the trail is in great shape. I would say 99.5%. Still the 0.5% will make up an 80 yard long stretch of mud :) seriously a few wet spots. some deep mud, but overall less than 20 puddles. A lot of branches hanging into the trail, so be careful. And yeah. Be nice with the old lady at the gate. and wear your helmet!
