We will be removing stumps this Saturday April 30th on a new section.  These are honeysuckle stumps not trees, so most of them are not real difficult to get out because they have shallow roots.  Two or three wacks around the perimeter with a rhino usually cuts the roots and the crown pops out.  For bigger ones, I have a Honeysuckle Popper that works good.  There are hundreds of these stumps so we need all the help we can get.

Tools needed:  rhinos, mattocks, shovels loppers, garden rakes (to clear trail of leaves, thorns, and debris) and anything else you have that will be useful in digging out and pulling stumps.  We have several rhinos so hopefully we won't be short on tools, but please still bring whatever you have.  A good pair of work gloves is also recommended.

Please meet in parking lot at 9am.

Thanks

I won't be able to join the work session due to work, however out of curiosity where is the new section going to be located? Novice, intermediate or expert?

More honeysuckle stump pulling on Sunday May 1.  This is a slow going job because there are so darn many stumps.  We have plenty of rhinos so we won't be short on tools.  We also have a Honeysuckle Popper which is made specifically for removing pesky honeysuckle.  Come on out and join the fun starting at 9am in the parking lot.

Stumps are gone and trail is trimmed thanks to the help of John, Mike, James, Ryan, and Alex.

Now the bridge building starts... Saturday and Sunday May 7&8.  Please bring cordless tools and all your batteries.  Also, someone please bring a chainsaw for backup.

Meet in the parking lot at 9am.

Thanks

Not only are we building a bridge Saturday, but I have been working with boy scouts to organize a trash cleanup day.  The scouts will be at RNP at 7am Saturday morning.  I will get them started and then move to the bridge project once they are under way.  We might have to help them move some of the bigger items and haul full trash bags to the parking lot.  There is a lot of trash near the site where we will be building so we should all be able to work together easily.

If you can make it out to RNP at 7am Saturday, I sure could use the help getting the scouts started on their project.

Thanks,

Jeff

I will be able to make it out there tomorrow, but I'm getting my car fixed early on.  I should be able to make it out by about 10.
