Next Level Trails Grant for Brown County State Park
« on: May 02, 2019, 03:15:02 PM »
HMBA is excited to announce that we have been awarded $200,000 from Governer Holcomb's Next Level Trails Grants Program.  These funds will allow HMBA to complete the following trails: Weed Patch, Limekiln Return, and HP East and install better signage throughout the park. HMBA has committed to provide $100,000 in matching funding as well as volunteer support for the trail projects.  Construction for Weed Patch is already underway and we expect to have it open for this year's Brown County Epic.  Competition for the funding was tough.  We were among 17 projects out of 82 applicants which were funded.

Thanks for the article link, Steve.  Good article, but I got a chuckle from this line:

"Brown County became a bronze-level Ride Center in WHICH YEAR."

Obviously just a placeholder that the author meant to fill in later...  :)
