Trail Building this weekend July 14th and 15th
« on: July 12, 2018, 03:40:29 PM »
Its crunch time for construction of the Crooked Creek trail. We need to finish the loop for the Epic, which will also allow everyone to ride Crooked Creek as a loop this fall/winter.  We have 1/2 mile of trail left to build, but it is a tough 1/2 mile.  We have 4 steep ravines to cross that require lots of benching and bridges.  Please support your local trails!  Join us July 14th/15th, Aug 4th/5th, and Sept 1st/2nd.
This weekend's work sessions, will stage from the Upper Handicap Hunters parking lot (top of Crooked Creek hill) at 10:00AM.  Please arrive by 10:00AM as we will drive back close to the work site. This map shows where we are working this weekend.
Directions to Staging area (Upper Handicap Parking): Take Crooked Creek Road South off of 46.  At the top of the hill, there is a parking lot on the right. Meet here.
Directions to work location:  We will drive back on Miller Ridge.  4x4 vehicles only and we will car pool to minimize vehicles on the logging roads.  The best parking is at the 10 O'Clock Line Trail inter section.  There are closer places to park to the work site, but they are more difficult to navigate.   I will be hauling tools to the work site, so you do not need to carry tools.  This also allows the option of riding to the work site. We will head out promptly at 10:00AM.  If you arrive late, you will have to find us (best option is to ride your bike till you see my truck (white f150 with white box trailer).

Great progress today. 11 volunteers cleared corridor, install 2 bridge structures, and crib walled in a steep ravine. Please join us tomorrow as we build more trail.
