Welder recommendations
« on: July 26, 2018, 01:48:48 PM »
I'm too rough on equipment.  I have a steel hardtail and the welds connecting the seatstays to the seat tube are cracked.  Anyone have a recommendation for a good welder who'd be willing to fix this for me?

Jeff,
Stop by BGI North and check with service.  I think one of the guys on staff is a welder and might be able to help you or direct you to someone who can.

Are they welded or brazed? That's the first thing to determine to know who to look for to fix them.

I have a buddy that is a killer welder.  Our shop is on the south side near I65 and Southport Rd.  He prob wouldn't charge that much to fix it.
