Hobbs is closed to repair storm damage

Hobbs Hollow is Closed until further notice.  The last storm had strong winds and heavy downpours.  There are trees down and tread damage that need to be repaired prior to reopening the trail.  Alex Stewart is out of town and I (Paul Arlinghaus) am unable to lead trail work for the next 3 weeks.  So if anyone would like to organize a trail work day to get Hobbs back in working order, please reach out to me.  We have tools at Brown County State Park and can help promote the work day.

After review of the trail, it sounds like the tread issues are just minor issues that are normal with a new trail.  We have someone to cut out the tree tomorrow morning.  Once the tree is cut and the trail dries up from any freeze thaw, it can be reopened.

Matt Hill is leading a work session tomorrow (Saturday) at 10:00AM. Meet at HP.

Trail crew worked this morning, but left the gate closed due to several sections too soft to ride.  Please do not ride around the gate.  If the gate is closed, all of Hobbs is closed.  The trail crew encountered a number of riders today who rode around the closed gate.  The dirt jumps and features on Hobbs will quickly degrade if riders do not stay off the trail when it is muddy.
