I rode both LC and SC last night.  Where you turn from Camp Glen to LC and go over the drainage pipe with rocks over it, it looks like some erosion has happened and the rocks are starting to fall away. 

Also, on SC, it looks like some older trails are starting to see use again.  Stuff that's normally blocked off.  I saw one kid ride straight up the hill visible from the gravel lot, (and take off the wrong way down the trail) before I could say anything to him.

The section just prior to Oh Shit Berm is getting pretty narrow.  It looks like there was some decent erosion on the downhill side this winter.

Snake Creek has seen the worst erosion (as it always does) and some of the armored places could use some cleanup.  It looks like the exit from crossing the actual creek has been widened out pretty dramatically.

That time of the year to start working on the trail to try and stay ahead of issues. 
We will meet at the upper paved lot by Schoen trail.  Will be working on rocking a major mud hole right next to the parking lot.
I should be there at 5:00 to 5:30 if anyone wants to come early and help get the rocks to the parking lot.

Change of plans.  Can't get to the rock.  If you come after 6, park at camp glen lot- far west lot, and hike up the old LC trail till you get to the pile of rocks then turn left.

Work session for tonight is cancelled with the storms popping up to the southwest.  Look for another work session next week, weather permitting.

Weather looks to be better this Wednesday, 4/12. Meet at the Schoen Parking 5:30 to 6. We will be working just of the parking lot, so look for us off the northwest corner.

Weather permitting we will be working on the trail. Will focus on repairing some of the holes that have developed and general trail maintenance. Meet at the gravel lot 5:30 to 6 PM.

On Schoen, just a little bit before the big switchback above the entrance to the park, there "was" a tree (or maybe it's two) where you kinda have to shoot the gap to get through it.  Last night when I rode I certainly noticed that there isn't any more "shooting the gap" as that tree on the right side is gone! It was a little tricky I suppose to get through that little gap but I'm wondering why it's gone? It seems a lot of times when there is a little difficulty getting through or around certain small obstacles that it disappears eventually. Just thought I'd ask if someone here did that or if somebody else did. I mean it's a more advanced trail than LC but it kinda stinks IMO when all of a sudden something is gone because "it's a little tricky" or whatever. I would think you guys would have a good reason to get rid of something so thought I'd ask here first. Honestly my first reaction was "what the hell?" but I'll reserve judgement to see if it was removed for a specific reason. Hopefully if anyone has ridden recently they will know what I'm talking about. Appreciate the work guys,... haven't been out to a work session but have spent hours clipping and pruning the trail. And god knows I need to to do more cuz the trail is starting to close in on itself!

REI work day tomorrow at 8:00AM on Lawrence Creek.  If you want to join in, meet at the Lawrence Creek Parking Lot. 

If not working, it may be best to avoid Lawrence Creek as they will be moving a lot of material and doing some big armoring projects.

That tree was dead.  Not sure if someone purposely broke it off or crashed into it and broke it.  I have noticed quite a few trees that have been broken/bent over in places, so I am assuming someone did it.
If you see anyone doing anything to any trees, get a good description of them and their bike and report them to DNR, post it here, and even send me a PM.
If you are comfortable, you can try talking with them and let them know that what they are doing can be considered vandalism on state property and they could possibly be arrested for it.  I sure as heck would push for it.

It seems there are a number of trees in Brown County that have been broken off at about bar height.  Some cut at the ground or pushed over.  Usually done where it would make the trail easier or faster.

Just for the record, I didn't take any of those trees out, but all I can think of is Geddy Lee pounding out, "The trouble with the maples...and they're quite convinced they're right...."
