I went riding yesterday and the trails were in decent conditions.  The usual areas were retaining water and in some areas you could see evidence of hiker/bike poaching from wetter weather.

I few of the areas in Lawrence Creek that are staying wet could definitely use a flat-rock treatment.  A few with gullies could use a drainage culvert with trail built on top.

I'm eager to help armor some of these areas in 2017.

Attempted to ride Lawrence creek trail today with no success. Didn't get far and had to turn back.
Due to the above freezing temps the trail is very wet, muddy, and sloppy.
Should not be ridden till dried out or frozen.
Trails should be turned back to RED status.

Tree down right before top of last climb before the flow down hill at NW portion of Lawrence Creek.

Otherwise rideable?

So before the big log pile jump?

There are a couple trees down from when I walked the trail a couple weeks ago.  Being that the trail has been unrideable, I haven't been in any hurry to cut them out.
It irritates me to see the trail all tore up like it is.

yes

Everytime I go by that I want to cut 3 foot sections and build a log pile ;-)

If the responsible parties don't mind .... I could flag the sections that are muddy while everything else is frozen. Each of those areas likely need a unique remediation plan be it armoring, culvert and bridge, French drain, guttering.... etc....

You're welcome to put a flag near trouble spots. We look forward to you joining our trail care team.  However we do need to wait until we're out of "freeze-thaw" to really assess the trails well. Thanks for your interest.

      Guys,

I attempted to add a link to the top of the forums to point to the new trail status page. The forums are picky about additional code so I will post to all the trail groups instead and focus on improving the Trails Overview page until I find a good method of modifying the forums template.

In the meantime the HMBA trail status information is now here. http://www.hmba.org/trails-overview/

Thank you for you patients.
