Gravel & Fatbike events
« on: November 01, 2016, 09:36:45 PM »
I'm wanting to know about as many gravel and fatbike events around Indiana and nearby states as possible---any resources out there I should check out (besides Google)?  PERSONAL, FIRST-HAND KNOWLEDGE is preferred.

Events I'm aware of:

Gravel Grovel
Death March
Harvest 50
Fat Fest

There is the "Founder's Barry-Roubaix Killer Gravel Road Race" on March 25, 2017, in Barry County, Michigan, which starts in Hastings, about 45 minutes southeast of Grand Rapids.

Lower Michigan has the Melting Mann and the Lowell 50 gravel races to go with Barry Roubaix in March/April.  Both are fun races.

Awesome---looks like a bunch (3500?!?!) of roadies "roughing it" on gravel but I'll check into it a little further, thanks!

Thanks!  If you could only pick one of the two (which will likely be the case for me), which would you choose and why?  Or maybe I'll do one in '17 and one the next year, then I can decide for myself!

Lowell 50 has a spring and fall race, so do Melting Mann in the Spring and then use Lowell as a hard training ride a week or two before Iceman...

My recommendation: Southern cross in GA and iron cross in PA.
