Grand Opening - Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day

The Grand Opening and ribbon cutting is set for Saturday, June 11, at 10am.


We will remain open until 4pm so come on out and see what we have added.

We put the finishing touches on the park yesterday and there's something at the HQ to suit all tastes. We've got easy and intermediate single track, a skills area, flow trail, dirt jumps and a pump track.

Nicely done for the kids and the community. I was challenged by some of the skill areas and would like to come back and try again soon.

Thank you to Chris Beesley for helping us out all day with the event as well as all his work on the park leading up to the opening.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A once-overgrown piece of land is now a mountain bike course for kids at Washington Park.

The property was donated to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department project by Indy Parks. Materials and labor were also donated.

One of the IMPD officers behind the park, John Wall, says he hopes it builds a bridge between the department and kids in the community.

Officers say they’ll keep some bikes at the park for kids who may not have one of their own.
