Lee and Mike were back out again today along with Sgt Matt Thomas for some great progress.

Matt and Mike completed 2 skinny wood features on the trail as well as completed our second bridge over muddy trail.

Lee dug trenches to allow water to better drain from the trail and started removing grass on the single track out of the woods.

Thank you all for coming out to keep this project moving forward.

I will be posting new work dates Monday.

The bike unit was out this afternoon cutting single track and DPW dumped several truck loads of dirt to fill in low spots.

They are going to be coming back tomorrow with a bobcat to move the dirt where we need it.  Look for a trail work session this weekend to get it done.

Steve and I will be out working at the park Sunday from 1p-5p.  I know it is Easter so I understand if we are the only ones there but we have just about completed the loop and had dirt delivered and placed in low spots that needs spread.

We would also like to get the pump track completed by the end of the month so come on out and bring your bike to help burn in the trail!

Just over a week before our first event so we will be working in the park on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4.

Come on out and lend a hand and see what we have been up to.  Bring your bike to test out the trail and features.

No experience necessary.  We need people to carry rocks, drag out piles of downed brush, screw down wood slats on technical features, etc.

Want to be a pull horse for a gas powered plate tamper?

Come on out to Indy's first pump track and dirt jumps to help pack them down!

Steve and I will be there working in the park Saturday from 10a-2p.

Bring your bike to sample what we build.  No diggy...no riddy!

Thanks to all our new volunteers who came out today to help.  Special thanks to Nick for helping drag the

If you have never used one of those machines you owe it to yourself to experience it, better than any crossfit exercise you have ever done!

Aside from a few tweaks to be made the dirt jumps and pump track are ready.

Our next work session will focus on completing the "Wooley Lumber Yard" of skinnies and wood rollers.

Watch for the next work date to be posted soon.

The push is on for the Grand Opening on June 11.

Join us Saturday from 10-2 and Sunday from 2-6 to finish up several projects.  We can use people who can help shape dirt, push and pull the plate compactor on the pump track, weed wack the dirt jumps, pick up trash, build wood features.

There is plenty of variety for everyone.

We will be at the park on Sunday, 7/10, from 2pm-6pm doing maintenance of the trail if anyone wants to come out and do some weed whacking and honeysuckle trimming.

If you just want to ride that is fine as well.  We will be riding also when we get the work done.

I huge THANK YOU to Mike, Lee,(those two will be deputized soon), Dave, and Sean (I hope I spelled that right...I don't have the sign in sheets handy).

The North District Bike Unit is hosting an event at The Headquarters Mountain Bike Skills Park this Tuesday morning for 90 young men from Young Men, Inc. and we couldn't do the things we do without the help of mountain bikers like these four guys.

Watch our FB page for more opportunities to come out and ride or to volunteer some sweat equity!

Happy trails.
