TRAIL CONDITIONS 2016
« on: February 16, 2016, 06:27:38 AM »
Please post here any new updates for the 2016 riding season.

As of 2/16/2016 the snow is melting away and the temps are slowly rising which will cause the trail to become sloppy in a lot of places.
It is recommended that you avoid the trails during this thaw stage to keep the trails in good shape for spring riding.

Thank you,

Traci

I know probably highly unlikely but is it possible that with a couple warm days, FL will be rideable Saturday aftenoon?  Thinking only FL or Rangeline coould be options.  Thanks

Unlike most of the other trails we have been lucky that ours is doing so well and drains like it does
It's is very sustainable and I would say other than the possibility of trees being down and the normal sloppy spots it may actually be ok
Trails were good first part of the week
However if you want to follow HMBA Protocol than you may want to avoid riding
French Lick has only requested no riding one or two times since I have been helping and as always it's ride at your own risk but please sign out when doing so.
Hope this helps in some way

Will update status light after work. No rain overnight occurred and we have had several good days of drying out along with windy conditions.

Awesome. We are supposed to be dry until after 3/22-so my guess it will be yellow/green by the weekend for sure.

Trails are back to RED due to all of the rain from Tuesday! If we get no more rain the trails should be back to yellow on Friday/Saturday
Thanks

TRAILS ARE YELLOW AS OF 5/27/2016
The trails have a lot of greasy areas and some areas are needing drains opened. If you are out on the trail this weekend, please take a little extra time and open a few of them up.
All it takes is 5 minutes of your time, a stick and a little elbow grease.
Removing the debris, leaves, etc. will allow the water to drain across the trail and let it dry out.
We are very lucky to have this trail and hopefully it will dry up soon enough to allow for some great summer riding.
Please be patient as some of these areas just need some time to dry. PLEASE---stop riding around the rutted areas. Please RESPECT the trails.
Riding around and creating a wider path is only causing more damage to the trails. Erosion is happening and it will not get corrected overnight.
The trail crew will be out opening the drains as time permits also.

Picture is posted on the FB page to see :(

Thank you!

Trail conditions are green/yellow; however with the sloppy spots in various places from the short-cut down

Continued effort will be made over the next several weeks to try and get the drains opened and the mud cleared out of them. This has been an issue in the same places since the trail was built and after the fire roads were put in.

Anytime that you are out on the trail and would like to open up a drain, please feel free to do so.
Overall, except the areas that are having draining issues, the trail is pretty solid.
