The Grand Opening for the Griffin Bike Park has been set! Mark your calendars now for Saturday, October 15th, 2016 and plan on attending the festivities! We already have confirmation that the Governor will be in attendance, and will likely take a lap or two! Stay tuned for more details to come!

The Grand Opening Festival is going to be EPIC!! Details are coming together, but this much we do know... The entire event will be Saturday AND Sunday, October 15th and 16th. General Admission is FREE to the public! Everyone is encouraged to come explore and ride the trails and riding features, which will only be closed during events and races.


There will be registration and fees to participate in some of the events and races, and our friends at DINO will be managing and timing the competitions, so you know it will run smooth! There will be more details to come, but on the schedule so far will be kids races (FREE!!), 1-mile time trial, dirt jump competition, dual slalom races, pump track time trials, lake jump and water trail competition (FREE!!), Cross-Country Mountain Bike Racing for all levels, XC Eliminator Short Track, and a Trail Run led by Run to Remember's Lisa Hallett and the Indiana Trail Runners!!


A full schedule will be posted soon, but the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, Oct. 15th. There will be a FREE BBQ LUNCH afterwards and Live Music in the afternoon!

Looking forward to meeting you Dave! I almost hate to admit that I have not made the time to come ride Southwestway yet! I was close enough when I lived in Terre Haute, and I am close enough now that I live in Westfield... I am going to have to squeeze it in between softball games, soccer games, swimming, work, and the Griffin Bike Park!!

It is confirmed!!! Governor Mike Pence WILL be at the opening ceremony and will RIDE with us for a short time!! I was out on Saturday the 8th trying the jump lines. First time on anything that big. What an adrenaline rush. Planning on coming back out on Saturday for the Grand opening.

On another note. Did you order the wooden jumps as prefab jumps or were they built by hand?
If prefab what is the name of the company you got them from.
Would love to put 1 or 2 of them in at a park in Fishers.

We did order the wooden jumps and features in the Basic Training Skills Zone. They are "pre-built" but we had to assemble them onsite. We got them from Progressive Bike Ramps. They did come out and help install the skills features and showed us how to assemble the ramps. It was quite a bit of work to assemble all those ramps!

The XC course will be about 6 mile laps. We will follow ALL formatting for DINO's race series, including start times.
