December 3 will be the official grand opening of Flat Fork Creek. Come on out and check the park out between 3:30 and 5:30.

How official and grand is this? Any big news crew coverage and ribbon cutting ceremony? I only ask because my guess is the majority of local riding folks who would care to make the effort to come out to partake are likely working their M-F job. Seems like an odd choice for anything but the political aspects but hey, that's probably normal and rarely contested so no reason to think too much into it, right?

Only curious. :)

It is on the Flat Fork Creek Facebook page. 3:30 to 5:30 are pretty weird times for a week day. Not sure how many mountain bikers will make it. I know I won't be able to make it. But at least it will officially be opened.

I am planning to go...

FYI...

 Agenda:
3:30pm                 Arrival – Ribbon cutting set up at the shelter.
·         Shelter will provide some coverage if weather is bad.
·         Serves as an accessible, centralized location for all attendees.
3:30pm                 Welcome and acknowledgements – Tony. Introduce Mayor.
3:35pm                 Remarks – Mayor.
3:45pm                 Ribbon cutting with Mayor, Leah, Tony, Pete and/or John, Carl Kincaid (REA), Rick Moore (Hoosier Mtn. Bike Association), and 1-2 youth from the crowd.
3:45 – 5:30pm    Park open for exploration and use.
(Note: Mountain bike trails will be closed if they are really wet/saturated)
Riding my SuperFly is a great escape!

Can anyone confirm that the trails are too wet today? I've heard that they typically dry pretty fast, but I wanted to make sure.

They were borderline today.
I went to the grand opening then rode around the trail system a couple times. The stuff out in the open is mushy, but the trails in the woods are OK.

I hiked some of the park today, it's looking really nice!  Is there a trail map yet for the bike trails??

No maps yet and Fishers are also going to put signs up on the trail so everyone will know the direction to Ride. The trails are a little tacky but ride able. The trail around the ridge is wet because it was not compacted. Will check on maps

The signs are up! I just went out for my first ride today and it's a great local trail!

The info post says it's a 2 mile course. It seems bigger in the videos, but it's a lot of fun and I love how it's close to home.
