Yellowwood Trail Condition
« on: October 19, 2015, 05:43:51 AM »
Rode the new trail and the trail down to the dam, then all the way to the Hidden Cabin then all  the way back.  Trail and road were very dry with leaves.  Enjoyed the old road back to Elkinsville.  Some route/check in signs were still up.

Please fee free to pull down any Epic marking that you see out there.

Kirk,
Where did you see the markings?  I can get out this week and remove them.

I thought we had removed everything when we were out there Thursday.  There were a couple of signs that we left up as it was not clear where to go and we decided it was helpful to leave them.

On the gate leading from the parking lot to near the Lake Monroe boat ramp and at the lagoon crossing, a checking sign.

Those can come down. We did not go that direction on the road

Now that the two new trails in Yellowwood are up and running, what is and is not to be ridden?  And with hunting season coming up it is ride at your own risk in Yellowwood/Hoosier National as always at this time.

The routes we used in Yellowwood are open, but some sections of Miller Ridge may be closed for logging. Please follow any posted signs.  The connection to BCSP is not open yet.

Thanks,

The only weekend I would avoid due to hunting is opening weekend of deer - gun season (Nov 14th and 15th).  During the rest of deer - gun (Nov 14th - Nov 29th) season I would suggest wearing orange.

What are the plans for the connection? Will it be trail or will it funnel rider to an entrance?

Yellowwood looked good yesterday. It looks like the logging equipment has been pulled off of Miller Ridge, but there's still a pile of logs out there that it looks like they're still planning on removing from the site. I'd expect logging trucks on weekdays still, but it looks to me like they've mostly cleared out in time for deer firearm season.

The Lucas Hollow loop is DEEP in leaves and tricky to navigate in spots.
