There is a long climb after the creek crossing. Last chance takes tou to a gravel road at the back boundary of the park. Hang a left, and the gravel road takes you back into the park when you cross a gate. You will pass a cemetery on the tight. A bit further down, you will encounter the new loop. I forget the names of the trails there right now, but they loop around and connect near the far end of the gravel road, by a bunch of stone ruins of an old camp.
