Progress
« on: September 21, 2015, 04:18:56 PM »
The parking lot has been paved and today they were out lining all the parking spaces. My wife has cleared the weeds off the switch back going up the sledding hill. Also JeffS has added 5 Strava segments for the trail including the switch back. Progress is slow but hopefully the town has worked out there problems with the contract.

Is the sledding hill going to be open for bikers after the park actually opens?  It seems that they would say no because of the damage that it will likely cause to the grass.

I would say no but I've seen a lot of people riding up and down the switch back. Pretty challenging due to the right turns and a great view from the top. There are people over there using the hill for training and backpacking trips

Workers were over today paving some of the walking trail on the westside of the park and doing some landscaping.

The park is really starting to look nice. They have been over all week landscaping and paving the walking trail. If the work keeps up the park should open later this year. The trail is in perfect condition with very hard surface and weeds and branches cut back.

Flat Fork Creek is yellow. So if you live close by and are wanting to Ride come on out. There has been a lot of progress on the park and may open late fall early winter. My wife and I were over Sunday and we counted 30 people out riding. If you come out please ride the south ridge trail as we are still trying to get it rode in Thanks

The park is still closed. The lot is not always blocked. People are riding at their own risk and there is a small place on the side of the road you can park.

I hit the trail for the first time yesterday. What a blast! Lots of fun factor and play time. Until next time!
