So glad to here conditions are GREEN.
I took off work on Thursday this week the 17th just to come out and ride in the park.
I am super stoked to see what is done so far and look forward to putting my wheels in the dirt in Terre Haute.
I live in MCcordsville so it's about a 2 hour drive but sounds like it will be well worth it.

ATimman, we are stoked that you are coming to ride! We hope you enjoy what we have built so far. Keep in mind that we are FAR from finished with the ultimate plan, but we do have some good trails down. We are lacking any sort of signage showing where anything is, so you will have to explore a bit. A great reference is to track some Strava routes. Here is a good link for the Griffin Bike Park Club: https://www.strava.com/clubs/GriffinBikeParkIN

I am not sure if you can see someone's activity if you are not following them, but try this as it is a great map of the routes: https://www.strava.com/activities/392349085

If you have any questions, let us know!

Trail Conditions are back to GREEN! Come Ride!

ATimman... did you get out to the park last Thursday and explore? How did it go?

Also, I will post in the other thread, but we are having a big work day this coming Saturday! First one in over a month and much needed. Please come join us! If anyone is interested in carpooling from the Indy area, I am driving there Saturday morning.

I did make it out last Thursday. The trails that are currently built are very nice.
The MEGApump line is not for the faint of heart or beginners by any means but was a blast to ride.
I had to turn around and ride that part 3 or 4 times in a row it was so much fun.
There are no other hills of that size in the area that I am aware of so it makes for a nice change of pace.
I posted a photo of one of the hills on Instagram under #griffinbikepark

That is great you got out to ride! Yes, the Megapump is actually in the Expert section of the park and is not complete yet. We plan on working on that section of the trail this coming Saturday, along with tying the Lake Loop into the main, existing trail close to the beginning of the megapump. There are a few other locations in the park with some relatively nice elevation change where we will be adding some drops, short downhill sections, etc.

I can't seem to find your picture on Instagram under #griffinbikepark though.

Hope you get to make it out again!

I was wondering if anyone knew how bad the trails are.  I am going to be in town this weekend and was planning on bringing my bike to check the trails out.  I am hoping they will be dry by then since there isn't any more rain in the forecast and it seems like Terre Haute didn't get too much rain.

Trails are currently YELLOW. They do tend to dry quickly in most areas so please use caution and stay off the muddy spots. There is some rain forecast, so it sure what to say about the weekend, but hopefully it is great! We are holding a Take a Kid Mountain Biking event at the park on Saturday. Come join us!

Thinking of coming down next week sometime... How much of the system is finished/ridable in terms of mileage, etc.? Looks like a pretty sweet place.

Willyjaybob, sorry it took a while to respond! Been busy. There are approximately 7 miles of trails to explore. You can make a good 3-4 mile loop around the lake. We don't have any directional signage up yet so you will have to explore, or ask one of the awesome regulars in the parking lot for a tour. They will be happy to show you around and ensure you get to the good stuff. Trail conditions are great! Hope you get out this week to ride. Let us know what you think!

Trails are Yellow today.
But there are reports of trees down.
One in the big downhill on the Lakeloop where the Babyhead root was.
And 2 on an expert trail. Trying to find out if its Mega or Bushwack. Be careful on both.

Will try to get out this evening and remove
