France Park is pretty much your only option.  It's only 15 minutes away and there's roughly 10 miles of trail.  There's some particularly good trail behind the swimming lake that HMBA built about 2 years ago before the park went off the rails again.  You could also go to Lafayette, but there's not a trail system there that's over 4 or so miles in length.

Sorry if I'm a little late, But you can always contact a land manager about building a trail in the Monticello.  I know when I proposed a trail west of Indianapolis in between Terre Haute and Indy, the park board got pretty excited about it.  We were able to start construction on the trail in less then a year.  Plus if your interested in proposing a trail for the Monticello area, I could always help.  I do know a former land manager and HMBA I think could help as well.
