Bike jumps gears on landing
« on: July 27, 2014, 06:23:39 PM »
New to trail riding. After landing some drops or jumps, usually larger ones, my bike will jump out of gear which obviously screws up my pace. What's at fault here? Weak tension spring?

Thanks
Mike

Could be. On rougher descents and drops I do try to have it in the big ring to try to keep as much tension as possible to avoid chain drops.  Also the new clutch type of rear derailleurs do seem to keep higher tension on the chain

Also Don't do jumps in your small chain ring
