Yes, the main trail work session will start at noon.

I will likely be setting up work in the morning and can set up anyone who wants to work earlier in the day on projects.

June 6-8th Trail Weekend.

This will be a big one.  We are holding our June Trail Build weekend the same weekends as the Midwest Women's Mountain Bike Clinic.  Most of the rally camping area is reserved for mountain bikers!  This will be the place to be for Midwest Mountain Bikers.

We have camping available for those who are participating in trail work and Sub has contributed a keg of Upland Dragon fly to the trail building cause.

Friday: Camping

Saturday 9:00AM: Early Bird Trail work session.  This will focus on projects to finish existing trail on HP Bowl (rock armoring, Bridge building, tread repair for a tree root ball, benching touch up.)

Saturday Noon: Main Work Session on HP Bowl.   We will be moving forward building new trail, along with some rock armoring projects.

Sunday 10:00AM:  Green Valley work session

Saturday's work sessions will stage from the scenic overlook South of the Aynes House (and just north of the Weed Patch road triangle).  Look for the HMBA tent.

Sunday's work session will stage from the North Tower Parking Lot.  We will be taking extra tools into the woods, so trail workers may ride into the work site.  If you are riding into the work site, meet at the Aynes/Green Valley intersection at 10:30AM.  We will be working on Green Valley.  And possibly the lower part of HP.

So we will be camping with all the women?  8)
Seriously though... I volunteered to lead a kids ride during the womens clinic weekend, but just don't know when yet. I'll try to help build some trail also, but will have at least one kid with me... Likely my 8 year old.
If anyone is bringing their kids down to build trail, they're welcome to join me on the kids ride.

hahaha.. cute Dave.  ;-)

I have set aside Rally 3 for the HMBA volunteers.  The ladies will be camping on Rally 1.  Rally 4 and 5 need to stay open for the weekend as this is where we setup our skills stations.  I'm not sure who has reserved Rally 2... so they may be in for a big surprise!

On another note... I have two kegs coming from Upland.  I am happy to donate one of these kegs (Dragonfly, of course!) to the work crew if someone is able to pick up both kegs on Friday afternoon... any takers?
Tell me and I forget; show me and I remember; involve me and I understand.

I hope everyone is ready for a big weekend at Brown County.  We will have two work sessions on Saturday to help fit everyone's schedule.  The early session is at 9:00AM and the afternoon session is at noon.  Look for the HMBA tent at the scenic over look just South of the Aynes House.

Sunday we will be doing trail maintenance on Greenvalley.  We will start at the North Tower at 10:00AM and head to the Greenvalley/Aynes intersection.  We will have tools at the Aynes/North Tower Connector intersection.  So, feel free to ride into the work session.

While we have 9:00AM and Noon start times, please feel free to come out at any time that is convenient.  Even if you just have an hour to spare, please stop by and see what the new new trail we are building.

We made great progress last month on the HP Bowl Trail.  We built a bridge, and did a lot of finish work on the trail that has been built.  We now have enough trail built to make it worth while to bring you bike for a post work session ride.  Other than one rock project, we will be focused on moving forward with new trail.

We have Rally 4 reserved for camping so come on down and make a weekend or just come out for any a part of the trail building fun.

Friday July 11th: Cummins employees are doing a service project to help build HP bowl.  We need some crew leaders to help.  The work session starts at noon, and the weather looks perfect for skipping out of work to play in the woods.

Saturday July 12th: Trail Work from 9:00AM till 3:00PM.  There will be two official start times of 9:00AM (early bird) and noon.  But feel free to show up any time.  After the work session, we will be riding our bikes on the trail to test it.  So bring your bike.

Sunday July 13th: We will continue building the HP bowl Trail.  We will meet at 10:00 and work till 1:00PM (feel free to show up later or leave sooner, even an hour's worth of work goes along way).

All work sessions will start at the Scenic over look just South of the Aynes House.

Hi Paul,
Tom Dompier here, we met at the IMBA trail building class a month or two ago.  Was planning on helping out at brown county on Saturday and Sunday, should arrive Friday evening.  For the Rally 4 Camp site, do I need to register on the DNR website or do I just show up.  Also, was planning on bringing the wife and 6 year old son...is that ok?  Or best to get another campsite close by?
Thanks,
Tom

Please bring the family.  Just set up in rally 4.  No need to register.

I may be out cutting trees in the evening, so you may not see me in the camp site till later in the evening.

I don't often take Paul's advice, but when I do, I end up in the woods.  Skipping work, going to BCSP.
