Hi Folks. As a reminder, if the trail status is yellow, it could mean conditions are okay, or terrible. Use weather radar sites and first hand reports before making you decision. As always, if you do ride and are leaving ruts, please bail. Thanks!

Hi Folks, you've probably noticed by now that we have a new Trail Status color, BLUE. This new status, and it's associated "hover over" text is intended to alert trail users that conditions may be in the Freeze/Thaw state. In other words, it might be fine to ride when frozen in the morning, but bad when things warm up in the afternoon. This new condition will help our trail status monitors from having to update local trails twice per day during these conditions. Of course, local monitors are free to change the conditions to RED during these times as well. You guys have the best view of what's actually happening on the ground.

Thanks to Paul A for the idea, and for KevinG for the script work. And always, thanks to all you local monitors!

Dno

NOTE: One of our alert forum readers (thanks Wyoming!) noticed that the new blue "lights" are not working on the main www.hmba.org page. We'll look in to that, but for now, will leave the status blue while we're working the bugs out.

It's now on the HMBA web page under trails/trails-overview.

http://www.hmba.org/trails-overview/

Plans are in the works to get the rest of the trails on there also.  No ETA yet that I have heard of.

There will likely be a button on the top of the forums connecting you to the new trail status area, but still working on programming issues.  It is much improved, so anyone can report conditions of individual trails.
