thank goodness for the bike wash.  That cut my maintenance job this week in half, at least.

Still going to go through everything again this week to make sure all the grit is out of the tight places.  Probably also do a lot of disassembly and greasing/lubing just to be certain.

Made it through the back half today....chain and cassette surprisingly good . Derailleur hanger bent. Bottom bracket is definitely toasted. New shifter cables and housing helped a bunch. Rear hope hub kept all the crud out.

Lefty & front hub is serviced. Broke one of my pedals too! Must have smoked it on a rock or something.

Sale? Sure I'll sell you mine. New crankset with less than 60 miles chain and rear cassette less than 100. Almost all miles were put on with a thick protective coating of brown county mud. Chain comes pre-stretched and all gear teeth have sharp edges safely removed :-D.
Cheap cheap cheap!

In all seriousness I dont think I made out too bad. Might have cooked a ceramic bottom bracket and the chain. Glad I chose to ride the hardtial.

Would anyone like some pictures of yourself and friends riding? I would like to practice shooting some mountain biking action to add to my portfolio.
