No news is good news
Please contact me if you are doing chainsaw work at Brown County. We have had several cases this year, where our chainsaw crew has carried a saw out to get a reported downed tree, only to find someone has already cut it out. The work is good and we do need more chainsaw volunteers. We just need anyone running a chainsaw to communicate with use. We have a tool we use so our chainsaw crew and trail leaders can communicate. So if you have been chainsawing or know who has been chainsawing, please send me a PM. We aren't upset with the work being done, it just really sucks to carry a saw to find a tree already cut out. Especially when there are other trees that could have been cut out. Also, if you hand saw out a tree that has been reported, please let us know of the forum that you cut it out. Thanks,Paul
Tree on North Tower at about the bottom of the downhill from the tower trail head. Will need a chainsaw unless a few folks can get the tree to roll. I couldn't get it to roll over the stubs left from the limbs.
Cool. I was unaware that we were able to update the trail status ourselves. I'll check it out.
Trees down, they are all going to need a chain saw.North Tower - close to 2 ft in diameter and slightly above the trail. N39° 10.992' W86° 14.151'. (I suspect this is the tree reported in the post above). Aynes - 15" diameter, slightly above the trail. N39° 10.686' W86° 13.666'Aynes - Two trunks, 8" diameter with a few smaller branches. N39° 10.610' W86° 13.656'
I was going to post a photo of a tree down but it seems like I am doing it wrong. It’s on north tower. Contact me and I can send a screenshot of its location and amount of tree down.ThanksBen Guillaum
