Trees down on GV- at the top of the second climb going CC at a trail sign, I think it was 13. Second one just after the bridge going CC.

Just a friendly reminder, these are still there and will require a chainsaw.

I cleared 2 trees from GV, 2 from Aynes, and a cluster from Bobcat.  I also propped the railing on the skull bridge on GV, although it's not secure and is likely to fall again.

It was only three days (three weekdays) from when grayhound posted that there were trees down on GV until someone posted  that they hadn't been cleared.  Virtually all of the trail maintenance is done by volunteers.  Even in a highly paid corporate world a three day turn-around is pretty good.  Be patient, appreciative, and realize that folks have other things to do besides work on the trails.  And, when you can, forego riding and instead go out and offer to help.

Tree down on GV. Coordinates are N 39* 11.2983’     W 086* 14.3214’ . Be careful, there are a bunch of bees! One of them got me when I was moving the smaller pieces off of the trail.

There are two trees over foot in diameter across Shelley trail.  Both in the first half of the trail starting from HP side.  They have been there many weeks and near one tree a new trail is starting to form going around the tree.

Steve, no need to report these.  They have been reported at least 3 times going back to early July.

I will get to the trees on Shelly, either this weekend or next week.

Are there still trees down on Schooner?

I cleared that tree from GV last weekend.  Completely forgot about the bees.....

I cleared Schooner 6 or 8 weeks ago from Ogle Lake Road to the Hoosiers Nest end.

I rode Schooner about 3 weeks ago and the tree that had been overhanging the trail for a long time right at the bottom of the rooty rooty switchback had finally fallen to the ground.  At that time the rest of the trail was still clear, except for some rocks.....

I cut a ride around for one tree on Shelly, but didn't find the other.  I will try to get back out this week for the other one.

This was just reported on Facebook.[/size]

Large tree down on Hobbs DH1, about a quarter mile after the drops. Will need a saw.

I cut the one on Hobbs this evening.

I started to cut the second one on Shelley, but my saw overheated before I was finished so the log is still on the trail.  As Steve noted, however, the ride around on this one is fairly well-established, and merges smoothly with the existing trail, so it will remain as is, at least for Epic weekend.
