FAQ

Q. Do I need to register?

A. Yes, this is a big event and we need to know who is coming so that we can plan accordingly.  Please preregister on line for the summit.  You must be registered to take part in any of the Summits activities.  Please register at:

https://www.imba.com/civicrm/event/info?id=284&reset=1

Q. Why does it cost $50?

A. HMBA has worked hard to keep costs down for the event we have worked every angle to get donations and free stuff, but there are hard costs for the event.  HMBA is attempting to break even on the event, so that we can spend money where we like to spent it (Building Trails!).  The event is worth far more than $50.  We are bringing in trail builders around the county for work shops and trail building training.

Q. What does my $50 entry include?

A.  Your $50 entry fee includes access to summit sessions on both Saturday and Sunday, continental breakfast and complimentary lunch at the Seasons (Saturday only) and free entry to the Sub-9 Schooner Shakedown and After Party at Brown County State Park on Saturday night.  NOTE: State Park entry not included.  Summit participants can also purchase event t-shirts for only $10 (vs $15 for Shakedown-only participants) as well as receive a discounted entry for the Downtown GetDown pub crawl on Friday night, hosted by the Brown County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Q. Can I just attend a part of the summit?

A. Yes, but you must be registered for the Summit to take part in any sessions or parts of the event.

Q. I am a mtb trail builder in Indiana and I really want to attend, but $50 is challenge for me.

A. Please contact me (parlinghaus@msn.com)  HMBA will attempt to help you attend the Summit.

Q. What do the trails at Brown County State Park get out of this?

A.  There are trail work sessions starting earlier in the week with DNR staff and land managers around the State.  Field work sessions will provide maintenance to the North Tower Loop, and we will be building new trail on the H.P. bowl trail. Then on Sunday, trail builders from around the Great Lakes Region will be working on the HP Bowl Trail.  So at the end of the weekend we are going to have a lot of new trail on the ground.

I am packed up and heading down tonight.  We are providing training for DNR staff tomorrow and then the Summit starts with Land Manager sessions on Friday.  It is going to be a fun weekend, with lot of great trail builders, and MTB leaders from around the State.

Plus, you can stop by and see if my training laps at Town Run have prepared me for the Schooner Shakedown!

I'm all signed up and excited for the day.  I'll probably spend the morning talking to folks who know Schooner better than I do what spots might be better for spectating.

I'm also excited to have the opportunity to demo some bikes while I'm there.
