In Asheville for one day.......which trail
« on: December 01, 2012, 09:02:20 PM »
Any suggestions? I'm looking at Laurel Mt, Squirrel gap, maybe Bent creek for some faster riding... what is the must ride trail here?

Would anyone like some pictures of yourself and friends riding? I would like to practice shooting some mountain biking action to add to my portfolio.

If going to Bent Creek, Greens Lick is a fun downhill. How you get to the top is your choice of several different routes. You can ride Ingles Gap to the top if you like to climb. It's the route we chose on our trip a couple of weeks ago.  If you have only one day you can get a lot of riding in. It can be very busy on the weekends.

This is my vote, also.  If you really want epic, and have 2 cars to shuttle.  Park at Yellow Gap, Up Laurel, down Pilot, get on South Mills River at the Gauging Station. Take South Mills to Buckhorn, to Black Mountain, Down Black Mountain to the Ranger Station, where the 2nd car is.

another vote for laurel-pilot, and black too.  perhaps as further encouragement for you to ride them, here are some photos of the spectacular views atop black and pilot (along with some words) from a group trip there a few weeks back:

Didn't see your post. But, that is exactly what I did this morning. What a ride! Although, it was about all my bike and I wanted. Carbon 29 ht 80mm fork.
