Now that's a bike friendly city!

Some of our Indiana towns and communities do a pretty good job of welcoming the cycling community to their locale.  But, I doubt heating the bike lanes for winter riding would ever make the master plan.

Me, I don't mind the cold so much as snow on the ground.  I can bundle the extremities adequately but I'd rather not share the road with cars and snowplows.  That still makes for very few times that I can't bike to work.

The trails in BCSP all use geothermal heating.  They just rely on conduction rather than a heat pump.  It reduces the installation and operating costs.
