All the west end trail reroutes are now complete..........

And after 5 years of reroutes, new construction, tweaks and touch ups, the trail system looks pretty good to me.
Thanks to everyone who helped out over the years.

Does anyone know how the race course is going to look this year with the new trail and the reroutes?

We'll use the same course as last year, with the addition of the new stuff on the north end of the park. I'm working on a course map.

Hey Brian. Is the course map on your site the one that includes the new stuff?

Heading down Saturday to do some recon riding.   :D

If it helps any, here's an up to date (temporary) map of whats @ the Tuck now. It sounds like the red colored trail is the new addition for the race.....Unfortunately, there is no new signage up yet at the park.

I love the upgrades to the trail. I think you guys have the best in town (at least right next to it) trail system in the state.

How much distance will that add to the race? It is already my longest race time was for some reason that course is painful to me:)!

According to Denny Barber (who knows the trail as well as anyone), a lap is now about 10 minutes longer than it used to be.
The course is painful for everyone probably because there is really no please to recover on it. You are on the gas all the time.

Any obstacles on the new red section (area past the bridge, behind the visitor center)? I walked a short section of it last year when it was under construction but I didn't go too far.

There are no man made obstacles on the new loop. It's rated advanced because the climbs are a little steeper, ravine crossings tighter, and some rocky sections.
BTW, the Park has a excellent new map posted on their website and this section is being called the Black Trail.
Good luck @ the race, and if you have the time check out all the other new trail sections in the park. They are all built with bike riding in mind.
