CX bike for the smaller among us?
« on: October 23, 2012, 03:17:09 PM »
Hey ladies and friends of ladies,

Does anyone have any experience buying a cross bike as / for a smaller person? I'm 5'2" and I'd like to get a cross bike, but my cursory glance at the options don't look too good beyond the WSD bikes. Anyone have experiences to share or advice?

Thanks!

Lindsay Rodkey

What brands have you looked at?  I think most brands have a 48cm and sometimes a 44cm option these days.  I'm 5'4" with short legs and ride an extra small Giant TCX w.  As much as I love Giant, I have to say their women's CX bikes are built on the long legs/short torso stereotype, so the stand-over height is disproportionately high, and the XS still feels a bit too tall.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
