Break Down Prep on Saturday, 10:00AM at HP
« on: October 05, 2012, 11:33:25 AM »
With rain moving through today, tomorrow will be a perfect day to hike trails at BCSP and work on areas holding water.  I will be at HP between 9:30 and 10:00AM with tools and maps and can send out crews.  If we can get two or three people hike each trail, it should be pretty straight forward.

Also, at 2 PM I will be heading out to clear the fire road to the cabin for the breakdown.  I will need a couple people to help with that.  Contact me if you can help with this as there will be some logistics to work out.

Thanks,

Paul

I would be interested in helping if there is anyone I could hitch a ride with (I live near I-70 & Post Road but could also drive to your location possibly) and who would be back in town no later than 5.

So far no rain here for friday.

pine could always use some help.

tuesday there were no problems on GV, or aynes.  only 2 spots holding on north tower, both on the far sections near the pine tree stand and  below the deer pond.
the north gate trail has 2 bad spots,  1 100ft down from the north tower junction, another up in the shale field just up from where the trail is really close to the road.
hp  just one or two spots of mud near the aynes junction.
limekiln and the hoosiernest end of walnut could use work.
schooner doesn't get enough traffic to have problems.

I was planning a ride for tomorrow with some first timers to BCSP.  I'm hoping the rain mostly stays away...

It looks like BCSP will get rain as some point as the front moves through.  With the cooler temps behind the front it could take a while to dry.  Check trail conditions before coming down.  Also try to give the trails as much time to dry as possible.

With an inch of rain and cooler temps, today is likely a wash out for riding.  I will let Rob post up trail status when he gets a chance to look out side.  But it will be a beautiful day in the woods.  And there is no better time than after a rain to walk the trail and look for areas that are holding water.

If you where planning to ride, this morning, leave the bike home and put on your hiking boots and work gloves, and come join us.

We will meet at HP as it is central to the trail system and split up into teams.  Some teams may relocate depending on which trail they are working on.

I have extra tools, so no need to have tools.

I will be at HP until at least 10:15.  If you arrive later, call me at three one seven 730 five zero 46
