Park Ave Trail
« on: September 26, 2012, 08:40:47 PM »
Hey guys,,  I thought that I'd ridden every trail @ Muscatatuck.  But, sitting here on this rainy evening scrolling thru some of the older post.  I see a trail named Park Ave Trail on the map.  I guess I've overlooked this one somehow.  ??? Having lived just a few houses down from Park Ave on South Elm St. I used to use a foot path that was there for years to enter the park from Park Ave. I used this path when I was a kid as did my children. We even rode our bicycles on this path.  20 yrs ago or so.
Would this old trail be the Park Ave trail or is it a TOTALLY dif trail altogether ?  I know the old trail made it's way into the park following the lil creek bed. I guess I'll have to check it out during my next visit to the park.  ;D

The Park Ave trail was rebuilt a couple of years ago by the local football team during a Community Day. It still follows the creek and is very scenic and flows well.
The trail was a little grown over the last time I was on it last month, so if anybody is riding there check it out and flatten some weeds.
The south end of the Park Ave trail starts after you cross the creek beds, just to the right of where the new trail cuts uphill. There was a good sized tree across the creek also.

Cool ! I'll have to check it out during my next visit.  I've got a lot of memories in that old park as I once worked there during one of my Jr High School summers.  I've weed eated the entire stretch of roadway in that park.  ((  no boys & girls,,  not with a GAS powered weed eater either. They weren't invented yet !! ))  Rather the kind you SWING back and forth !!!   :(   Telling my age here ! ;D
Thanks for the info Guy
