Fort Harrison State Park / Re: Fort Harrison Trail Work 2017

I rode both LC and SC last night.  Where you turn from Camp Glen to LC and go over the drainage pipe with rocks over it, it looks like some erosion has happened and the rocks are starting to fall away.

Also, on SC, it looks like some older trails are starting to see use again.  Stuff that's normally blocked off.  I saw one kid ride straight up the hill visible from the gravel lot, (and take off the wrong way down the trail) before I could say anything to him.

The section just prior to Oh Shit Berm is getting pretty narrow.  It looks like there was some decent erosion on the downhill side this winter.

Snake Creek has seen the worst erosion (as it always does) and some of the armored places could use some cleanup.  It looks like the exit from crossing the actual creek has been widened out pretty dramatically.

I don't see it there.  Am I missing something?

Just curious, who does the trail maintenance for the hiking trails?  Last time I hiked camp creek it was getting difficult to follow in some areas.

Fantastic 4 / Gnaw Bone Map

Is there any kind of updated map for Gnaw Bone?

That one is obviously not the greatest, being a scan of a hand-drawn map.

I will agree with mtbikernate.  Get a spot tracker.  There's a reason the folks doing Tour Divide, etc all carry them.

If the cost for one of those isn't your thing...apple products have the "share my location" feature, you can always use that.  It will kill your battery though.

Rode a full lap today.  My first time there.  Totally rideable on a singlespeed.  There is one tree down on the East side towards the North end.  It looks like beaver damage  and is completely blocking the trail.  I have pics if you're interested.

So fatbikes with shotguns then?

There has also been some trees knocked down on corners so they can cut it sharper.  Irritates me to no end.

I saw one on SC that some asshat knocked over and broke off about 12 inches above the ground.  And it's sharp.  Just waiting for someone to impale themselves on.

A couple of weeks ago, I was on SC near the parking lot where there is the climb in the open then you enter the trees.  As I came through the first trees, I had my encounter with a walker with two little yappy dogs running all over the place.  I almost ran over the first one.  I did stop and mention to her that her dogs need to be leashed as DNR will fine her if she's caught.  Her response was, "Well I can afford the fine, so whatever."

I agree that something needs to be done about unleashed dogs on the trails.  I don't blame the dog, and I understand the desire to take your dog with you while getting some outdoors time in, so can we just run over the owners? (I'm joking in case someone doesn't have a sense of humor) :P

I'm not sure if I'd be able to attend but the video attached makes me want to make the drive!

Looks like we'll have a nice window to work some projects tonight. Not sure about wheelbarrowing gravel though. That gravelly inslope right before the pillbox would be IDEAL to build with moisture in the soil.
