I have wondered that as well, I suppose if you had a hard tail you could get a rack an put gear on that.  What about a full suspension bike?

I cleared it going ccw on Monday but going cw I had to put a foot down.  I didn't bunny hop it just popped the front wheel over like gt ss said in a previous post.

There is a small tree across the trail right before the 1st bridge after the north picnic area going clockwise. Me and another group of 3 riders tried to move it, but it'll need a saw.
I rode three laps last night and the trail was in good shape just a couple of slick areas but you could avoid making ruts and still stay on the trail.  Of course todays rain changes all that.  As far as that log goes mentioned above It is very rideable so I say leave it.  The only thing tricky about it is setting up for the bridge and turn while hopping the log.  About a week ago I hiked the trail and it was at a 45 degree angle crossing the trail and I managed to break a branch and get it to fall to the ground.

Thanks for posting this Paul!  I was unable to attent the informal meeting that was at Gallagers in the fall after the RTP grant was approved.  Looks like between SWW, Town Run, and Fort Harrison we are going to have plenty of places great places to ride here in the Metro area.  Especially if the trails are built as well as other HMBA trails I've ridden, namely BCSP and Versailles.  BTW I found the annual meeting very informative.  I think HMBA has a great story to tell about how a small group has made a difference not just for mountain bikers but really anyone who loves the outdoors in Indiana.

I haven't seen the plans but I don't think the proposed future trail is going to be part of the DINO course that was below the levy.  That wouldn't be a good idea because it seems that area floods at least once a year anyway.  Speaking of the DINO course there were two BIG trees that fell on the Man Hill trail that goes south from the parking lot up the hill.

I am voting for Mon. or Tue.  Those are the only days I could work and I would like to get my trail building feet wet.  (No pun intended  :D)

Ok so I am trying this again... some pictures from the flooding @ SWW from Monday.  It was worse on tonight when I was down there.

This is a dip in the trail between the double track downhill from the parking lot and the first bridge going counterclockwise.  Where I'm standing is underwater tonight.

Going the same direction this is where the bridge is submerged.

Looking the other direction at the same bridge.

Standing on the levy looking East towards the White River.

Took a hike earlier this evening and heard what sounded like shotgun fire.  Not the first time I've heard gun fire while hiking or biking in that area.

Hiked the trail today to check out the flooding.  I hiked counter clockwise and the first bridge was completly submerged.  Water was on both sides of the levy on the south end covering the trail in a couple places.  Continuing in the same direction the trail was in good shape considering all of the rain + snow and ice melt.  Just a few soggy spots in the usual places.  The last bridge before the north loop was blocked by a tree, not to big in diameter but long enough it will need a saw.  Other than that no major storm damage.

I have pictures of the flooding but I can't figure out how to post them ???  Any help?

I am assuming you will need a ticket to the Boat Sport & Travel Show to get in?

I've never experienced this phenomenon either.  I always rode my bike under power lines high voltage power lines when I was younger as well with no noticable shock.  Sounds like we should send this to Mythbusters!

That's the kind of news I like to hear!  Only living two miles away SWW is the trail I ride most and it will be awesome to see it grow into a more lengthy and challenging trail.
I can't wait to get in on some new trail construction in the coming months!

Great thanks for the info!  I thought I had read where the race course would be open starting Fri afternoon.

Rode the loop today and the little bit of rain we got on Sat morning was just enough to knock the dust off.  The trails were great.
