Buy, Sell, Trade / Re: WTB: Carbon rigid fork« on: May 31, 2017, 12:01:10 PM »
Im guessing that it is a fat bike fork. I forgot to state that I was looking at standard dropout spacing ie 100mm not boost or fat.

Fort Harrison State Park / Re: Fort Harrison Trail Conditions 2016« on: September 06, 2016, 01:20:27 PM »
I just did a lap of lc and it was a mix of dry almost pavement like hard pack for 70-90% but all Creek crossings and some spots were loose still but had dry trail next to them. Now when I say loose I'm running 45psi in a 26x1.95 small block eights.

Riding on Pavement / Re: Condition of greenways in Indy.« on: February 14, 2014, 03:51:23 PM »
The monon was clear all the way up to 96th last week, so my guess is its all the way clear before todays snow except for crossing some small streets such as 52nd. Now the culture trail does actually still have some snow on it at crossings for some intersections. Just a reminder that the fall creek trail is closed after it crosses 38th but there is a detour.
Now I wonder if the city will plow the trail or just wait for the weather to take care of the snow? 9

Tech Bench / Re: The ante has been raised in the helmet light wars« on: December 11, 2013, 02:10:20 PM »
Hello new commuting helmet light.
![]() I think this combined with 2 of these http://www.zoralight.com/?id=svitilny/zora_scorpion should be finally enough light for me to actually be able to see at night(around 18k lumens). Im not kidding I feel like i can only see enough distance with 2200 to have about a 1-2sec reaction time at most some objects like pedestrians are even less at 1sec at most. Lets not even get started with the walnuts those things are barely visible I just see a spot and cant tell if it is a mark on the pavement or actually walnut which makes riding on the monon in some areas in fall as white knuckle as doing a rock garden at 20mph. 11

Rants and Raves / New Frame suggestions« on: November 18, 2013, 12:58:34 AM »I have been looking at a better frame and was thinking about going steel this time around as my current leader lh515 doesnt match the component spec of the bike. Who makes a decent steel 26in frame anymore? I have seen gunnar but that seems about it for a 26in hardtail. 13
Town Run / Re: Night Riding Lights« on: November 18, 2013, 12:51:28 AM »I spoke to Parks today and am working on some behind the scenes stuff and the event application. I'll post when details are more definite.Sweet hopefully Im not at my parents when this happens. I have a crazy light setup i would love to test off road as on road its brighter than a car. 14

Tech Bench / Re: Central Indiana wheel builders« on: May 01, 2013, 10:11:21 AM »It's certainly not an easy or a fast job, especially for a first timer, but it isn't rocket science, either. If you're at all mechanically inclined, it's totally doable. When I got started, I figured that even if I messed up and had to take them to a shop to be trued and tensioned, that'd be cheaper than paying for a build. Luckily Ive gotten that nailed down as I true wheels all the time. Also Ill have to look into a tension gauge as I thought they were around 120-150 retail. Got these wheels finished the other day, and they turned out pretty nice... aside from the flex in the rear wheel that I wasn't expecting to get. Under heavy load I'm getting 2-3mm of distortion in the wheel. Spoke tension on the drive side are all at the mfg's recommended max so I know that's not the issue. What setup are your running ? I have the same issue but my wheels are only around 1200-1300g and at a lower spoke tension than most rims on the market to prevent cracking. |
