Town Run / Re: TRTP Trail Conditions
« on: May 04, 2020, 09:03:31 AM »
Pretty much everything has moved to Facebook groups.
Town Run - https://www.facebook.com/groups/60024611414/
Fort Ben - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1009766722495292/
Brown County - https://www.facebook.com/browncountymountainbiking/

As far as open trails.  All State Parks are closed to MTB.  National Forests are open - Nebo Ridge.  Crooked Creek is in Yellow Wood State Forest so it's closed.
Town Run and Rangeline Trail in Anderson are open.  SWW might still be closed, not sure though.

Fort Harrison State Park / Re: Fort Harrison Work Sessions
« on: May 06, 2019, 07:48:13 PM »
It’s “always” rideable, just depends if you want to deal with all the muddy sections!  :)
Sunday it was bad in a lot of places.  First 50 feet of LC was total watery mud from all the foot traffic.
Might be ok Tuesday if rain misses it.

The Park built the gates.  Gates will also be built on LC sometime soon.  Please, if the gates are closed stay off the trail.  We will have a lot of work to get the trail back in shape.  I already have several sections that will need to be rebuilt.

There is RV and Camper parking behind the pool house.  Must register for a spot.  Everything else around the pool area is tent camping.

At that time the rest of the trail was still clear, except for some rocks.....
So when are the rocks going to be cleared out?   :D

Steam engine in the ground or maybe one of those big steam "diggers".

Fort Harrison State Park / Fort Harrison Work Sessions
« on: January 19, 2018, 07:52:58 AM »
We will post work sessions here and on the Fort Harrison Mountain Bikers Facebook book page.  Work sessions will normally be on Wednesday nights at 6 PM.  Meeting place is the gravel lot between LC and Schoen.
Work sessions will start once the weather warms up.  Depending on how bad the trails get over winter we may hold some special sessions to address really bad areas.

Post here for trail conditions.

With the temps getting warm this weekend 1/20, please stay off the trails.  Hopefully we will get below freezing temps again soon so we can get out and ride.

General Trail Information / Re: Why isn't Ski World a MTB park?
« on: January 02, 2018, 04:14:11 PM »
The thought would be to make it a Bike Park with berms, drops, jumps and whatever crazy stuff people could think of.  It wouldn't be a place to ride for distance.

I thought the same thing for years.  Used to ski there a lot when my dad was on the Ski Patrol.
Years ago, Perfect North looked to buy the property, but the current owner wanted to retain to much control, so it never sold.  Not sure who owns it now.
It could be made into a shuttle park very easily.
Someone hit the lottery and buy it!!

Fort Harrison State Park / Re: Trail Need - Wrong Way Signs?
« on: October 18, 2017, 09:53:54 PM »
People read signs?  Naw....Really?  Had no idea.
In all honesty, more signs wouldn't stop wrong way riders, but I'll get with Paul and see what we can do.
