« on: April 12, 2017, 07:02:16 AM »
Is any information available on this?  (# sold, revenue generated from it, what the revenue was used for, etc.)

Sorry if it's been published previously, I missed it if so.  Thanks!

« on: November 01, 2016, 09:36:45 PM »
I'm wanting to know about as many gravel and fatbike events around Indiana and nearby states as possible---any resources out there I should check out (besides Google)?  PERSONAL, FIRST-HAND KNOWLEDGE is preferred.

Events I'm aware of:

Gravel Grovel
Death March
Harvest 50
Fat Fest

Find a Ride / Custer St. Park (South Dakota)
« on: November 10, 2015, 02:40:01 PM »
Wanting to see if anyone has first-hand knowledge of trails and bike rental availability (NO Jason, I don't need you to Google that for me!)  ::)  in Custer, SD/Custer St. Park.

My family and I are going to be travelling to the area in early July and I have a "day pass" to ride while we're there.  Based on other stops we'll be making to and from, I don't want to take my own bike and would like to rent a fattie or +-sized bike if possible.

It looks like there are quite a few bike shops in Rapid City; there also appears to be several trails in Custer St. Park (a few shorter ones are listed on Singletracks), one of which is about 22 miles of the Centennial Trail.  Again---anyone have first-hand knowledge that can give me some guidance?  It's much-appreciated and I'm looking forward to it!

« on: October 09, 2014, 01:11:45 PM »
I will be travelling to Destin soon and wanted to see if anyone has any personal experience with any trails in/near the area (within about 30 minutes).

No Jason, I don't need you to Google that for me!   :D

Thanks!

Southwestway Park / What remains to do with SWW RTP grant?
« on: February 17, 2014, 07:04:30 PM »
I enjoyed the trail work sessions this fall and am just dreaming of when we may be able to pick back up with them!  Are trails 7 & 8 (link) what remains to be done, along with an added technical downhill trail for the Marian MTB team?

Southwestway Park / Stuck!
« on: January 09, 2014, 02:55:57 PM »
Well, not only is SWW not rideable, the parking lot isn't even driveable (save for BEAST 4WD's...and one even was temporarily stuck trying to get me out)!
My car joined one other that is currently stuck even prior to the main parking lot area.  Save yourself the trip (as I should have)...it's not going to be good for quite a while, especially with all of the expected rain this coming weekend.
Many thanks again to the gentleman that got me and my bike/gear safely home!

Avon - Washington Township Park / Show me around?
« on: October 16, 2013, 03:25:25 PM »
I am planning to ride at Avon around 9am tomorrow and was wondering if anyone would be available to ride at that time and show me around (never been to Avon).  I am somewhere between a beginner to intermediate from a skill and cardio standpoint.

Rants and Raves / Needing a good plumber!
« on: September 18, 2013, 12:03:27 PM »
Here's how this ties to cycling: I have read on the forum about a rider that has as their signature "Need a plumber?  Shoot me a PM" but am now unable to locate his info.  I would like to work with someone that might benefit from my business, and I would also in turn like to work with someone that is also a fellow mountain biker.

If you are a plumber, or know of a good one that doesn't charge a rim and a crankset, please PM me or call four zero 9-zero five 8 one.   THANKS!!

Versailles State Park / DINO event?
« on: July 20, 2013, 09:56:23 PM »
Did the DINO event take place today, or is it tomorrow?  Just wondering for riding purposes.  Thanks!

I apologize in advance if this is mentioned elsewhere (I couldn't find it and am still somewhat new to the site), but I was curious to know the criteria in determining whether a trail gets a "light" at the top of the page or not.  I assume it's based on which trails are used the most, but maybe there is other criteria as well (which trails have an administrator, whether they're HMBA-maintained or "Other Great IN Trails," etc.).  Just curious!  Thanks in advance.

Avon - Washington Township Park / Forgotten, neglected, hidden gem???
« on: June 14, 2013, 03:03:53 PM »
What category (or blend of the three) does Avon/Washington Park fit into?  Planning to ride it today to make my own assessment and see the light is yellow but no trail conditions have been posted in four months.  I'll post up after I've been, along with my "vote."

Advocacy / New trail potential?
« on: January 28, 2013, 09:06:26 PM »
Please forgive my "newbness" with these questions: I have been trying to read all of the threads throughout the site over the past day since joining the site and haven't run across information about the possibility of new trails in a couple locations I'm curious about (Southeastway Park and Edgewood? Park---both Indy Parks).  I live close to both and was wondering if either have ever been considered for mtb trails. Southeastway has walking/hiking and paved trails, and would seem to have enough acreage for at least a short loop.  Edgewood? Park backs up to Franklin Central High School; there isn't a lot of land at this park, but if a partnership with the school (I work in the district and "may" have some pull in a parks/school partnership) could be formed, maybe it could be a possibility.  This also leads me to a question about school (public & private) partnerships: is it possible that schools interested in furthering science initiatives may be interested in making mtb trails part of the equation?  I think a win-win situation would exist in this regard, and wonder if efforts along these lines might move along quicker than some others. Again, my apologies if these questions have been discussed/addressed....I'll keep reading!   :)
